How do I take care of another guy's girlfriend (he's asked me to take care of her) while she is sick?

I am seventeen, by the way. A friend of mine asked me to ';take care of his girl'; while he was in Denver for a bit. Anyway, she got sick and her parents are in Cleveland for the week. She and I have been really good friends for a while now and we playfully flirt with each other occasionally. She misses her boyfriend and she's cried about it a couple of times. How do I comfort her while at the same time keeping the boundary between friends and relationship intact?

If it seems like it's getting a bit... close, then get up and go to the bathroom, something to break the mood. If it consistently seems to be goin' that way then just get the crap for her, drop it off, and leave.

keep things friendly -- watch sports with her or funny movies that dont have a love story behind them, so its not awkward. make her soup or something and ask if she wants you to run any errands for her, so you can still help her, but you dont have to be around her too much. just practice good judgement and she is probably feeling vulnerable so just dont let her feelings get mixed up with you/your friendship. just remember that she's your friend's girl, and how badly things can get messed up if anything happened between you two.
