What do people think of Robert ';Joe'; Halderman the guy who tried to extort Letterman?

What if you found out that the person that you were involved in a serious relationship with was romantically involved with another person before you came along and their relationship continued behind your back. What if you then discovered the truth and recognized (in this case) that Letterman knew that he was risking his relationship with his wife and also putting himself in the cross hairs of Halderman if he ever found out he was being two timed by his girlfriend who insisted that they were just ';friends';. My opinion is that Letterman deserves whatever he gets. He knew what he was doing and he has ruined many peoples lives in his pursuit of a little piece of *** on the side. What would you do if you were Joe Halderman? Suppose he had plans to marry this woman and have a family with her...how pissed would you be to discover something like this?

I would want to do more than extort some $ from Letterman if I were this guy! The girlfriend deserves what she is getting also. She must be suffering a tremendous amount of humiliation for her actions and Halderman has to accept that he has wasted years of his life with this woman. I can see why this guy would want Letterman to pay. He could not ignore Lettermans role in this and he could not accept Letterman walking away from this unscathed. So what do you do? I don't think Halderman was trying to take advantage of the situation and line his pockets, his life has been damaged and he was seeking some sort of civil restitution by makeing Letterman acknowledge the harm he has caused in his life. Many people would go after a guy like Letterman with a baseball bat. What do people think of Robert ';Joe'; Halderman the guy who tried to extort Letterman?
I think Joe is a real dumb@ss for depositing a personal check for two million dollars in his account. What excellent proof he provided. As is the case with so many criminals, he's stupid.

It's so pathetic for someone who is scorned to try to make someone pay. More noble to walk away with dignity instead of in handcuffs.

One seeks civil restitution in court. Come on.What do people think of Robert ';Joe'; Halderman the guy who tried to extort Letterman?
he's a low life.
1) Letterman appears to be a cheating slimeball. I hate those.

2) The extortion guy can't be too bright if he thought that was a good idea. Clearly he's also very greedy for money.

3) If he wanted to expose things, the media would have picked up the evidence and paid him some for it, which wouldn't be a crime but would still get it out there.
Black mail is wrong no matter what situation. Public humiliation would definitely be humbling. I think you are blowing this a little more out of proportion than need be. By the way is it really affecting your life?
Who cares?
I don't watch that much television and never even heard of the issue until it was over. My life doesn't revolve around celebrities
